The FSSAI is a governmental body which has been created with the object to ensure food safety in India. The Food Safety & Standards Act was introduced in 2006. The FSSAI Act has been introduced with the object to improve the food quality and hygiene standards, which eventually brought incredible change in the food industry standard. The Food Business Operators engages manufacturing, distribution, transportation and storage or of food products must obtain FSSAI Registration. As per the Act, Every entity, person or whosoever shall commence or carry on any food business only after obtaining the FSSAI license or FSSAI registration. Any food manufacturing or processing or packaging or distributing entity is now required to obtain a FSSAI License or Registration. The FSSAI fee is paid at the time of registration, and the subsequent number issued is printed on their product or mentioned in a prominent place, for the general public.

Food Business having turnover upto 12 Lakh annually	Food Business having turnover above 12 lakh and upto 20 Crore annually	Food Business with the turnover more than 20 crore annually.
